Hi, I'm making a header for my site in photoshop. I save it for web, and tried both jpg and gif formats, and put the quality up to very high. But when it's saved and put on the site, the image looks very pixelated. Is there anyway to make it come in clean and not pixelated. It's not pixelated all over, but just in places of contrast.
There are a ton of resources available. Have you checked the Photoshop documentation? You could also try searching Google and seeing what you can find. If you need more reading material; http://www.myjanee.com/tuts/save/saveweb.htm http://www.elated.com/articles/the-save-for-web-feature/ http://inobscuro.com/tutorials/read/35/
Looks fine, but when I view it in the browser it looks pixelated in some areas. Thanks, I'll check these and see if they yield some results. In Photoshop I goto file > save for web, I've tried both JPG and GIF, haven't tried PNG, but I imagine it'll do the same thing. I'm not sure if I have a setting that is off, that may be causing this.
when you are use 'save for web' are you viewing the original and the preview at the same time. I think they call it '2-up' or something like that. if so, the image on the right should be what the final image looks like. either way, mess with the # of colors and the dither.
Maybe you select bigger size for the image when you place it on your site that the image itself is. Example your image is 400x400px and you select 550x550px, but I don't think this will make the image pixelated only in the contrasted areas. I don't know any other solution. You can PM me about it and send me the PSD file. I'll try to handle it.
