Header & Logo Contest -- 48 hr., $40, Feedback Given

I need a logo and header for a company named American Photo Restoration.

What's the company about: Clients send old, faded, torn, damaged photos to the company. Company uses Photoshop to fix the problems and sends fixed photos back to the clients.

Aim of logo: Header should show website visitors what the company does. Logos are for branding.

Style: Build it on a web 2.0 style

Colors: Red, white and blue. If it has an American flag, the flag should not dominate the logo. Logo will sit on a white background.

The client wants a WordPress header, a logo and a mini-logo.

• The header should be 950x200.
• The logo should be square, approximately 300x300 pixels.
• The mini-logo, for Facebook, Twitter and invoices, should be OK as small as 50x50 pixels.

This is a 48 hour (approximately) contest, and I intend to provide feedback on all submitted images.

The final product should be in psd format (layers).

I like the logo, and the way the American flags do double duty...symbolizing America and also showing blurry becoming sharp.

I would like two changes:
1. Make the blurry flag faded, less color saturation, to better show the improvement. Add a jagged line or some other way to show that the original photo was torn or folded.
2. Select a text font that is more easy to read.

I like your logo. I think that a person might think that the company only adds color to photographs, actually it mostly fixes faded, torn photos, and fixes color shifts (the whole photo looks red or yellow).

I like the text font.

 

To the person who PM'd me a logo on photobucket, that looks quite good.

You have captured exactly how some old color photos come in, and how we are able to fix the colors. The plain Arial (?) font is clear and easy to read.

These show what the company does, but they seem to lack some of the clever symbolism of other entries. I'm not sure what could be done to make them work better.

 

Do you want me to use a symbol specific to USA? Like the lake Michigan? (I'd stick to landscapes or cityscapes.)

 

I think that something that represents the U.S. would be good, but I do not think that Lake Michigan would be the best choice.

When I think of the U.S. the first images that come to my mind are the flag, the Statue of Liberty, the New York City skyline or the Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge, the White House and a map of the nation.

 

Is it better this way?

 

Hi Lucas3DFX, yet it is better but it just doesn't work well for me. The idea of the photographs is good, but somehow it doesn't look like I want it to. I am sorry, I do not know how you can improve it.
