This contest is for the header our new website - RetailTycoon. Last week, in a contest for a logo, we selected a logo for the site. http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/2258/retailtycoon.jpg Now, I would like to see a design for the header. Assuming we can get a design we like, then the winner will receive $150 by paypal. I will close the contest most likely within 72 hrs, and will give at least 24 hrs notice before I close the contest. This site will sell websites and ecommerce solutions, so it needs to stay in that theme. Elements that we will need in the header 1. Logo (already designed) Use the logo in the link above... 2. Search Box 3. Sharp image "ecommerce related" Such as person doing online shopping, etc 4. Horizontal Navigation 5. "My Account" and "shopping Cart" in upper right Things I am looking for: 1. Simple and Classy - Nothing too clever, too busy. 2. Softness of Colors - Don't use weird colors. Stick 3. Quality Work needs to be original. No copying off template sites. Can we have more info please? Dimensions? How many buttons need to be provided for nav? can you give us the titles of these buttons? Thanks
As far as dimensions go, we are looking for for 1000 pixels wide. Height is not as important, but we probably want to keep it under 400 pixels. As far as Navigation goes, we need Pricing , Features, Demos, Services, E-Tail University, Support, Company Information Any other questions needed?
Thanks for the entry. It is not bad. It is missing navigation, and we are looking for a realistic picture on the header. Also please see my update regarding dimensions.

Feedback, recession - not what we are looking for at all. katesrobyn - this is the right idea, but I don't care for the way the picture is framed. I think there needs to be less emphasis on the stock photography - or needs to be merged better with the header - see examples below..... V06-TECH - stock photography is fine for the center picture. Please don't spend any money on the concepts. pheonix89 - Not crazy about the shopping cart being repeated. A little too complex V06-TECH - I can lower the prize amount if you would like?? The reason for $150 is because I need a quality design fairly quick. Have gotten some good entries through PM. You are welcome to submit your designs by PM if you are worried about them being copied. I will try to provide feedback on them individually.
Wait what? I didnt ask for you to lower the prize amount. I thought it was really good that the prize was at $150. Because that is plenty for us designers to purchase a stock image and still receive a large chunk. Unless you wanted a copyrighted image, since you did ask for a photo to be used.. BTW, if entries were copied in the contest, then you would clearly see so and you could take action. But for entries to be posted via PM is quite unfair.
Yep! Absolutely agree with V06-TECH, entries via PM is unfair, this is competition! Many of designer in DP must be not happy if the winner is the entries from PM.
The reason my entry was submitted via PM is because I have seen my designs constantly getting ripped and in some cases chosen as the winner. If it is a big problem I can post it in the thread.
