Glenn officially endorsed Ted Cruz. It's downhill from here on for Ted. Usually, when Glenn gets involved everything starts going wrong for that person. I hope it's not the case this time around though. I like Ted too, but wouldn't vote for him over Trump.

"“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters,” he said."

I'm wondering if he's simply trying to make the other guy look sane, has so few voters who he knows must be crazy or is wanting Democrats to take out this election.

You cant be that naive, Americans havent opened their wealth to anyone, thru the economic and monetary policies they suck the wealth from the entire planet and without the talent, skills, education and discipline of immigrants they would suffer termendeously. Look around at the universities and you will see that immigrants are the ones focusing on education and aquiring skills that generate wealth.

Yes, and let's keep this ignorant attitude moving forward. The US went into Iraq the first time to steal its oil, and not free Kuwait, right? The second time we went in to steal its oil again, right? And we did not spend a lot of blood and treasure to help its people, we did it to steal its oil. Oh, we didn't colonize Iraq or take any of its oil and simply left once the mission was completed? Hmm, that must be an aberration since we are so evil and greedy. Likewise, our saving Europe from the Nazis, and our military installations in Europe during the Cold War did not cost us any money, whatsoever, and we profited handsomely from those efforts. Likewise in Korea and Japan. Oh, that did not happen, either? Well, I better not bring up the fact that U.S. humanitarian efforts (money and resources) around the world basically equal the rest of the world's similar contributions as that would also work to destroy your fantasies.

It is easy for the ignorant to try to paint the U.S. as the next evil empire trying to hurt every other country around the world. History tells us that throughout the centuries any country that had a tremendous military advantage (the Romans, the Huns, the Mongols, the Moors, etc.) tried to capture others and steal their wealth through colonization and annihilation. The U.S., on the other hand and despite our clear military advantage, gets involved with military excursions reluctantly and only wants to get out once it is over. But, the narrative of the low information citizens around the world is stuck in earlier centuries and made up fairy tales.

Look, the U.S. absolutely has its faults and, like all other countries, we are primarily concerned about our own interests. But, only the truly ignorant do not see a big difference in what is happening now versus what it has been going on throughout human history.

It's a metaphor for saying, "no matter what I say, I keep gaining voters". Trump did say outrageous things, yet his following keeps growing. It only shows how sick and tired the people are of the Washington politicians.

The interesting thing is none of Trump potential voters thinks Trump says or does anything insane. It's only the people who don't like him think that.

Let me take it a step further: it is only the Low Information Voters who only listen to the liberal propaganda machine that is 90% of US Media who believe that Trump is any more insane than any other presidential candidate. They will be the same people who will likely vote for the lying, murdering, totally corrupt and downright evil Clinton sleaze machine because they think that she cares about them. Hilarious.

Naive about what? The fact Norway is EXTREMELY non-diverse, racially, ethnically, and culturally? The fact Norway supports its socialism via petroleum wealth? The fact their economy is suffering because oil is down to $27/barrel and likely won't be back above $45/barrel (The minimum price that makes oil from fracking marketable) in our lifetimes? The fact Norway accepts almost no immigrants, while the US accepts millions of immigrants annually? The fact Norway has a country wide population smaller than a single US metro area?

These are what are commonly known as FACTS. Setting aside for a moment your response to my post didn't address a single one of these facts, it did make some rather absurd claims of it's own.
    1) Americans haven't opened their wealth with anyone, thru the economic and monetary policies they suck the wealth from the entire planet
If you are highly educated, or have a unique skill set, America has an open spot for you to immigrate here. In that sense, the US has been "sucking the [intellectual] wealth" from the entire planet for nearly a century, though it isn't like we forced anyone to move here. Outside of that, the US has handed out more foreign aid than practically any other nation on earth. George W. Bush, through use of US taxpayer dollars, practically eradicated the epidemic spread of AIDS in Africa. Our outrageous trade policies with countries like China and India have allowed for massive trade imbalances, creating wealth in those countries directly at the cost of US citizens. You literally could not have put anything more absurd to print.

    2) without the talent, skills, education and discipline of immigrants they would suffer termendeously. Look around at the universities and you will see that immigrants are the ones focusing on education and aquiring skills that generate wealth
See item 1. American universities are among the most respected universities in the world, and they recruit the top students in the world. That aside, your assertion is that the students from the US who attend those same universities are somehow inferior to their foreign born counterparts. It is just more ignorance, tinged with a hint of racism. There is a reason why many if not most of the foreign born students desire to stay in the US after graduating, and it isn't because the US hasn't opened up opportunities for them.

Forgive the shadenfruede, but I would be lying If I said I wasn't getting some joy out of watching the oil markets crash, and the influence of petro-states like Saudi Arabia disintegrate. Time to evolve or go the way of the dinosaurs.

I am talking about the economic slavery of the world by virtue of fiscal and monetary policies and control of exchange rates. This economic aid is nothing but façade, first you exploit and devastate and then for optics you hand over a bag of flour to a starving family. Americans are the best at printing money, they printed trillions of dollars to stave of the imminent bankruptcy of most of the banks, automobile companies airlines etc. An American teenager does not come within miles of a Chinese and Indian student, libraries in Beijing university are packed at 5 am in the morning. The census results tells you about the education level of the Chinese and Indians and if you think that is racist then you should talk to the census bureau.

Chinese and the Indians actually produce something that the world wants and which trade imbalance and tax payer money are we talking about, you guys spent tens of trillions more than you had and printed the shortfall. And again you are naïve as the crash in oil prices has eroded trillions of dollars from the net worth of American investors. If oil goes by the way of dodo bird then American super power status will be challenged as China is way ahead in alternate energy. Saudi is one of the biggest US allies and the regime is installed by them to protect their interests and to screw the population.

Hmmm..it is the brain washed like you who keep smiling and feeling good about themselves without any idea of reality

US Has Killed More Than 20 Million People in 37 “Victim Nations” Since World War II

    http://www.globalresearch.ca/us-has...-37-victim-nations-since-world-war-ii/5492051

Most of the world population is under economic slavery, why would they wanna kill the lil Cambodian boy who is working 18 hr days for under a buck a day so that we may enjoy the luxuries of life. Please educate yourself about economic slavery and then we can talk. If most of the world hands them resources for paper they print then really they don't need to invade the countries. Military might is very short lived as Chinese are amassing a lot of power and are completely willing to make allies with countries disenfranchised by the likes of Trump. Trump will be the reason that Russian, Chinese, Me countries might make a formidable alliance.

Sure. So long as you aren't a big fan of labor laws and don't mind their protectionist economies and currency manipulation, I can see where one might think China and India are somehow rocking it. China may have 1.2 billion potential consumers, but their middle class is far too small and far to poor to maintain their current growth.

    http://fortune.com/2015/08/19/what-chinas-currency-devaluation-means-for-the-worlds-trade-deals/

FYI. they call it the "debt" because it is borrowed money. Its not something you can print money to pay back. Printing money only decreases the value of it, like China is doing.

    http://www.pri.org/stories/2015-11-20/kicking-chinas-coal-habit-and-helping-save-planet

Crashing oil prices lose money for those who invest in oil. Unlike Saudi Arabia and Norway, oil is only one part of our economy. When oil prices dip, the other sectors of our economy actually thrive. Cheap energy has that effect.

Curious as to where you got your "education" on this topic, and the others. LOL

Let's assume that these "scholars" or "news reporters" have their numbers right and the US has purposely killed 20 million people in the past 50 years or so. Laughable numbers, but we will go with them for now. What was the purpose and what were the selfish gains that accrued to the US for these planned killings? Did we acquire colonies or vast treasure or natural resources for our own greedy uses? And what gain comes to the US from keeping other peoples in "economic slavery?" We prefer to trade with countries that are doing well and can buy our products, not countries that keep its citizens starving to control them.

The villains actually keeping those people in economic slavery are very clever and blame the big, bad US for all problems, but there will never be progress in those areas unless its citizens wake up and look to the local/regional culprits who are actually the cause of their continued impoverishment.

Again, I am a bit agnostic right now as to which Republican candidate that I prefer; my main criteria is who will be most likely to beat the Billary sleaze machine. Right now, Trump is clearly showing that ability but the early primaries will show a lot more in this regard. If he wins IA, NH, and SC, I think that he will win the nomination and have shown a solid ability to beat back the Clintons and their corrupt cronies.

However, I am absolutely enjoying the frustration and fear of the liberal media around the world who have done everything they can to destroy Trump's candidacy with no affect. Not only does it matter in this election, but he has clearly shown the way for future anti-big government/anti-liberal candidates to run. Ignore the falsehoods and bleating of the liberal press and doubledown on conservative issues. Mean what you say and say what you mean and let the pointy-headed liberals deal with the facts for a change, instead of their false narratives. Powerful.

The thing is there's only one Trump. And it works only for him. The other candidates tried his approach and it backfired.

As Trump said Cruz is a liability. Cruz is a good man, no doubt about it, but he's still a big-time politician and if he's nominated the libs will question his citizenship and it may disqualify him. Don't underestimate what the libs can do regarding his citizenship. They are purposefully not bringing it up as of now, keeping it on the back burner just in case.

What I also like about Trump is his children are too can be a huge asset to what Trump can accomplish as president.

I hope that is not the case. I am not really aware of anyone since Reagan who spoke his mind and stood his ground in the face of withering liberal media attacks on his positions. They key is doubling-down on your principles when they turn the heat on. The vast majority of politicians instinctively all try to "run to the center" when it gets a little warm. Obama was also a "first" in this regard on his side; his campaigns said screw the center independents and bring out the solid base in droves. Many people do not realize that Romney won the so-called independents last election and, therefore, should have won the election. Obama foiled that equation by bringing out a bigger than ever showing by his core voters in key precincts in battleground states.

I could just be an eternal optimist, but I am hopeful that the conservatice up-and-comers learn from this experience and come back stronger and wiser. While the media is still dominated by liberal idiocy, there are more and more ways that conservative principles have a voice (talk radio, Internet, FoxNews) and Tfrump is benefiting from that and leading the way for the next generation, I hope.

So, I was thinking that Trump was making a mistake by bowing out of the Fox News debate this week, but then I realized that, in fact, he has a lot of support from Democrats and with this move is showing his independence from a conservative bastion like Fox News and may be shoring up his support from Democrats. Could be a stroke of genius.

We shall see. I think his actual thinking goes like this:
    * He leads in polls by double digits, making him the one people are tuning in to see
    * Debates give candidates airtime they usually desperately need, yet Trump is not suffering for lack of coverage
    * He doesn't have to deal with what he anticipates will be hostile moderation
    * If the other candidates ignore him, they tear only each other apart
    * If the other candidates dont ignore him, it sounds weird for them all to be talking about him (more coverage)
    * If his event turns out to be as big as most of his other events, it could be more interesting the debate
    * If any of the other networks give any airtime to his other event, it will damage Fox's numbers for the event, further perpetuating the idea that this GOP primary is nothing but the Trump show

Again, we'll see, but I suspect he is right on all counts.

I support Trump not because there's no better alternative, but because he's the right man for the job:
