HDFC Debit Card vs Icici Debit Card

    I never had any luck with my HDFC visa Debit card. It didn't work on paypal or any other international websites like Hostgator, Godaddy etc.
    Although its a Gold card with Visa logo.

    But today I tried my new Icici Master Card debit card and its working like charm for everything I can imagine. Paypal to Moneybookers to all other International Payments.

    Can anyone explain why ICICI bank card works and not HDFC?

    Does it have anything to do with one being Visa and other being Master Card?

    If you have a HDFC Card, then use it to generate Virtual Credit Card which would work on almost all sites which accept credit cards.

    Its depend upon Payment gateways. Normally debit card will not work in international payments. But i some payment gateways like 2checkout debit card works. ICICI provides Instant Credit Card @ RS 20,000 Fixed deposit. I use this card for all international payments .
