Hello freinds, Can any one please tell me having a non .com domain name will effect the search engine positions? I am talking about other domains names like .net .org, .uk, .ws etc. Do we have to do put in something extra effort to get these domain name to the top position or will it be the same as for .com domain names Thanks
That means if i buy www dot example dot com and www dot example dot net and www dot example dot org i could get the first three positions for keyword "example" in google search pages as the domains is most important that effects the position.
People think because they see so many dot coms that only dot coms are worth anything. But there are just more dot coms that people try and monetize. Websites are ranked and SERP'd, not domains or extensions. As one example, prchecker.info owns the entire niche for google pagerank checking. That's one big, bad, dot info. It's PR 8 even. If you search for the right things at the right time, you will see many different extensions. Stephen C
Domain extensions definitely have no effect on search engine optimization. They are simply just categories of Internet Domain Names. An .pr domain (a country specific TLD for Puerto Rico) with great content can rank just as good or even better as a .com domain with the same amount of good content.
