I am relatively new to the affiliate marketing industry with my site www.shopadots.com, and was delighted and encouraged when my commissions rose to hundreds of pounds (£) after only 2 weeks. The euphoria was short lived though....two days later a large chunk (over £800) of the commission disappeared. I am not prepared to 'name & shame' just yet, because investigations are still underway, but at this stage it appears to be the merchant who has dipped his fingers in my jam-jar by "duplicating" the orders on a local machine and cancelling the ones generated by my site. As affilates we are at the sharp end of e-marketing, building our own sites and taking care of our own strategies to develop business for merchants. How despicable is is for a merchant to steal your commission. Surely this must rank as the ultimate sin in affiliate marketing? Has anyone else experienced the same problem? The merchant in question is VERY well known globally and ranked amongst the top in their industry. I am sure they would not enjoy having their reputation tainted by allegations of this nature, but equally I do not want to be dragged into court accused of libel. I would appreciate some views on this subject and apologise if this has been raised before. If it has just point me in the right direction.
I'm new to CJ so maybe you can pm me and let me know who to look out for. I can't afford to have commissions stolen. Thanks
Hi Skyline600, I assume CJ is involved in the investigation? It's in their best interest to help you get paid if they want to get paid. When I used to manage a CJ program I had a couple weird things come up that cause "fake" duplicate transactions that were no ones fault and had to be reversed. Sometimes the customer had bookmarked the order page AFTER the order was place - I guess thinking they could come back and check their order. When they did it caused a dup or triplicate order that was not real and therefore never shipped. Sometimes when this happened we thought it was the affiliate themselves trying to commit fraud and get paid in triplicate. Another thing that happened once is that a tech at a company I worked for did not realize he'd previously clicked an affiliate link and still had the cookie. He placed a bunch of test orders because he was programmingg some stuff in the cart, didn't realize he had the cookie. They were no real orders and never shipped - he was just testing code. I only bring this up because if it's a well known company is it possible it was something other than outright stealing?
I would have to agree with the above. If it is a well known company, they probobly wouldn't stake their repuation over a few hundred pounds. And the above is correct - if you don't get paid CJ doesn't get to collect their fee's, so it is in their best interest (and yours) that they investigate all of the transactions that are reversed on the site. They don't want to be subject to fraud anymore then you do. Just contact CJ, explain the situation, and have them look into it.
Yes I have experienced the same problem. I have joined rxmex.com and they didnt send me checks. They also sent me emails that thease checks are on the way so I waited. Now they are named xlpharmacy.com and they signed me up to this affiliate program though I didnt want to. You should know that there a lot of scammers thease days. Some people did say that affiliate programs can stole your 10000$ or more payment. The best way to take your money is to go to that office and get what is yours. You can always warn people from some affiliate programs just talking in forums like you did.
Rx-Mex did not "become" XLPharmacy.com. XLPharmacy.com was around long before Rx-Mex. When Rx-Mex went under financially, they only "suggested" that their affiliates try another Pharmacy, and they "recommended" XLPharmacy as it has been a stable and reliable online Pharmacy for affiliates to work with.
