i was wondering if google might penalize me for having to domains for my site? i haven't done it yet but I'm considering doing it.

i want to know if i might lose my positions on the search results.
or would doing a permanent redirect be better?

    Use 301 redirect.

"google might penalize me for having to domains for my site? "

Google will penalize for duplicate content, but if you have 2 or more domains redirecting to 1 domain then its OK.

a permanent redirect will be google friendly, and imporve your main site's ranking. rather making aliase will cause definately to penalized one less important and young site.

here is a little code for your help.
