In the past I embedded several (with makers permission) youtube clips into a html web page (with the file stored on my server). It worked fine. But now I am trying to imbed the higher quality youtube version (codec mp4a), again, with the file stored on my server, and the code I used previously doesn't work... Can anyone advise on what I need to do? What the correct code is etc. I have googled it, but am more confused than when I started! Thanks in advance
try this <embed allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" flashvars="&file=_____________file___________.mp4&autostart=false&skin=http://www.longtailvideo.com/files/skins/modieus.swf" height="425" id="mpl" name="mpl" quality="high" src="http://www.longtailvideo.com/jw/embed/player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="566"></embed> Code (markup):
Thanks for the advice I am a bit confused... I downloaded the higest quality version (which has the mp4a codec) but it is a .flv file. It says it ia a TYPE: FLV. So is it flv or mp4?
theres no need to download then embed you can copy the html code from youtube itself its besides the video
You'd better convert it to FLV, and use a web-based FLV player to play it online. This is tutorial - http://flash-video-player.blogspot.com/2010/07/add-youtube-videos-to-website-with-self.html
I don't understand: have you downloaded the video file to YouTube or you're just trying to embed this video from your server to some page of your website? There's standard code in YouTube allowing you to put this video into the web page. What are you trying to do? Sorry, if the question is stupid, but I've never had such a problem and I can't really understand the author.
