Okay. Well I just started this affiliate marketing thing, and over the past month or so I've made $600, with about $250 profit. This was all through direct linking, as I wanted to get a feel for the different ppc advertisers, [msn, google, yahoo]. I decided that it would be a good idea to put on my first landing page, with an offer that isn't too hard at all. This one being Bidz, as NeverBlueAds. Now, since this is basically a free sign-up, with only 5 lines to fill out, I figured I wouldn't need too much but maybe a few solid facts to get that click over. Payout: $7.00 Avg CPC [depends on keywords]: 20 cents. I know that landing pages are a complete different thing. But the past 60+ clicks have produced nothing, and only a handful have turned even clicked through to my affiliate page. Any tips, advice, anything would be great? I just wanna get off on the right foot. This is my landing page. http://www.CheapJewelryAuction.com Can't post links yet. Thank you so much.
The page itself looks fine minus an opt-in form. Are the visitors who are "Not Clicking Through" a targeted traffic source/audience or just random traffic? I see that happen a lot.
I think that looks like a good landing page, It would be great if the form can be on the first page. I've ran this offer myself and had very poor results although "they say" it is high converting.
also, are you sending very tragetted traffic? I was bidding on a lot of words and that may have been a problem but I like sending as much traffic as possible when I launch an offer to see how it performs. That being said, of course it is always better and wiser to send qualified traffic.
An opt-in form? Is that like the form itself on the landing page? I've had pretty decent success when I've direct linked to fairly targeted traffic, long-tail keyword jewelry. It's all very targeted and I've matched the keywords with what is actually sold on the website. It's just frustrating because I've had prior success without a landing page, and now that I have one, I seem to be in a rut. So ya, I'd say it's targeted, and only 5 people have clicked through to the affiliate page out of about 35 clicks, and 0 have converted into a sign-up. Is there anything I can do to improve this? Should I just keep twerking with keywords to see which ones convert? If it doesn't show signs of progress after a certain time should I just drop it? And... What is an opt-in form? Thank you all for your fast replies. I definitely appreciate it.
An optin form is to capture names and email addresses to build a list with. If you have targeted traffic and if you had better success linking directly to the product page, I think that you have just answered you own question on what should be done with this particular campaign.
Ohhh. That's a good point. I think I'm going to keep trying out different keywords to see if anything works and then if it doesn't turn over for me I'll just go back to direct linking and start on another. What other affiliate companies are fairly easy to get into without having to show a proven track record of making money? Isn't there like copeac and azoogle?
