My site is structured like this:

    <h1>Page Title</h1>
    <h2>Post Title</h2>
    <h2>Post Title<h2>

    Code (markup):
Etc. If my posts had titles for each paragraph or section in them, those would be h3 tags.

This why, the most important stuff on my site is given higher priority, medium is given medium, and so on.

I think we are going way off topic

Just a little clarification here, we don't need to care whether Google read / compare / analyze / index / visit Stylesheets. The point here is clear, as long as you are not doing any Black Hat techniques with H tag (coding the whole body text in H1 etc), we have nothing to worry about :)

If someone think that certain font size is too small and can get you into trouble, may I know what is the minimum / maximum font-size recommended by Google? :D

Having multiple H1 tags in your page does not violate the standards. However it also does not serve the purpose of emphasizing the most important headers because it shares the same billing with other titles with H1. To me, the title is the sole phrase that should bear the H1 tag.

ahkip, Google looks at the text. That's it.

The css is just a style. When you style text with css Google doesn't know it's styled. So you can hide text, make it huge or white or whatever you want. A human had to have reported that site for anyone to know.

The topic of this post was does it matter if you use multiple h tags. And the answer to that is no.

Most blogs use multiple h1 or h2 tags on a page and it hasn't seemed to make a difference.

That's OK Dactyl. You can also use <h1 class="fontstyle"> where "fontstyle" defines your font size and type.

Thanks for the reply ewc21, appreciated :) I gotta say that it was a relief because I am using this on one of my websites, h1 tags alone without decreasing their size are huge, they wont look good at all.

No, you should never have several h1 tags on one page.

    Use h2 or h3.

Let's remember the purpose of h1 which is to emphasize something.

Objects worth emphasizing in this case are page titles and headers so it defeats the purpose if you overuse this tag just because you believe this will help you rank well on search engines if you embed your chosen keywords inside <h1>.
