    Hello everyone,

If I link from one site to another site (non related), can the site linking from get penalized by google?

If it does will it be better if the site uses rel=nofollow?

    Any suggestion?

It usually more than 1 link to get penalized.

If you use rel=nofollow then you should have no problem with any type of penalty.

Is there somewhere I can check penalty?

And how long is the panlty going to stay if the outgoing links are removed?

Best way to see if a link is banned is to use the google pr toolbar and if it shows grey with N/A then use "nofollow"

If the site you are linking is a bad neighbor so you will get a penalty, otherwise if you have many unrelated links without being categorized, your site will look suspicious of selling pagerank, which is forbidden by Google.

If we use rel=nofollow we should have no problem with penalty from google, how about the link advertiser?

The publisher must use the nofollow tag or Javascript code.

If you link your sites with each other you should use rel=nofollow to avoid any possible penalty by Google. Do follow links may get penalized if number is more (it is difficult to tell what amounts to more links)
