Having Only One Post and Removing Date, Posted By, Comments etc.

    Hi,

I've got Wordpress installed but I only need it for one main page and then a bunch of pages. I don't really need posts at all. I guess the main page will be a post though but I don't want comments, a title, a date or the 'Published by' bit. How can I get rid of this stuff? If I go into the theme editor and removed those sections will it screw with anything else on the site?

    Thanks!
    Kirsty

Backup the files of your current theme (this is good if you delete too much) and then start deleting the comments and date stuff from the theme's files index.php and page.php (if you don't want the posts on the pages as well). Then test it and it should work fine. I've done this on some of my sites.
