I read a post a few days ago. someone mention a better to improve page CTR, adding little icon on side of the google adsense. i didnt get much traffice, and ctr is low 0.41% , i dont know if this number is low or just ok. after i m using his metho to improve my page ctr. it drops to 0.06%, I just checked today. did I do something wrong? one reason I can think is visitors almost tripled , maybe more visitors i got realy lowered this ctr number. but still i dont think 0.06% is acceptable. btw, i searched google on how to improve ctr number, didnt get any useful info, if you know any good articles, plesae list them here. big thanks from feel
Well it depends on what sort of images you use, and you also must be careful not to blend them too well with the ads, else you'll be breaking Google's TOS.
They ask that you use a boarder around your adsense text. I've tried it and it seemed to work very well... Give it a try, If you don't see better results then change it back.
truckin , thanks for your tip. you mean remove icons , but adding border around adsense text or add border around icons. alot adsense experts said dont make your ad look like an ad. You just did the opposite way. will adding border make it so obvious this is ad ? i thought that gonna drive visitors away.
I thought they asked you to have a border round your picture that is besides the add? Am i wrong, you have to have a border around the add instead?
How many visitors do you get? Optimizing the look will be hard (and take time) if you get less than a thousand a day. Make channels. In most cases having a border DOES NOT work, but in some cases it DOES work: depends on the overall design of your site. So test for yourself.
if background of site is white then that would be perfect for blending, but kh7 is right, sometimes borders around ads will give you more, but icons, images, these all are risky and may block you account.
It's extremely risky, and after I heard how many people are getting banned I took mine off. I'm very glad I did, no more bad dreams (I literally had bad dreams about getting banned). I wish I could keep the pictures on because it lowered my CTR from about a 20% to a ~4-5%. Bottom line; I wouldn't advise doing it.
ur ctr is 20%, then I must do something wrong. my site is almost 2 weeks old, now getting 700 unique hits per day, expect to get 1000 soon, this coming week. i only got 1 or 2% sometimes goes to 0.06%. 4-5% i would say its still pretty good, but 20%, i am beginner and no experience, but it think thats really risky. no way 10 page view, i will get 2 clicks. unless......
sometime it works.. visitors pay more attention to those little images. but you should put a line between images and ads.. otherwise you will be violating adsense TOS.
thanks abhik, i just removed those icons from my site. better not to take risk, really not worth it to try.
I was on a tutorial website just yesterday and the webmaster had blended his adsense ad into his content so well using a little icon, that I clicked on the ad because I thought it was a tutorial. It was then I noticed my browser had left the site. So I hit my backbutton and looked at the link I had clicked. Sure enough, it was an adsense link. I had not even noticed the ads by google text underneath the link. Im probably not the only guy that has clicked the link in that same manner. I'm sure he's making some money off of it. Its the best example of blending I have ever seen. Bison
Bison: I don't suppose you can get back to that site and post a link for an example, could you? I'd love to see a good example of blending, as I doubt I've seen any, and known what they were.
Nevermind, ill pm it to you. Im not trying to get the guy in trouble here. I was just posting the example for Josh inno. Bison
That site is breaking TOS by having text above the ads. The only text allowed is sponsored links I believe.
