having EXTRA nonkeywords in the domain?

I have some questions on domains and keywords.

It is common knowledge, at least on these forums, that keywords should be in the domain.

Now my question is if I have a popular keyword phrase, does adding another word (or article) hurt me?

Lets say the phrase is "Example One". If I were to add "the" to it and make it Theexampleone would that ruin the keyword aspect of it?

Or even if it isn't the word "the" and another word together.

Does two words work better than 3 in general also?

edit* or should i add a "-" in it. and do just Example-One

So I was going to go with the example-one.com domain name and I was going to buy it today... and someone registered it like hours before me.

You've GOT to be kidding. Apparently it was a good idea though. GRRRR. Maybe I will go with a "the" addition. I dont know anymore.

Generally, "the", "in", "an", "a", and other determiners have little value unless they are extremely relative to the phrase.
"TheGetFreshCrew.com" may be better than "GetFreshCrew" because it is/was a commonly used phrase(In the 80's).
But , "TheUsedCarClassifieds.com" is not better than just "UsedCarClassifieds.com"

That being said, there are exceptions to every rule since there are nor "cut and Dry" rules for dealing with such a young industry.
