Having a Hard Time Getting a Merchant Account

    Hey Guys.

    Geez - I hope this is the right section of the forum, but I'm thinking it is.

    Anyway, about merchant accounts...I am having a hard time getting a merchant account because of my business type, can anyone recommend a company ? It is considered "high risk" - but prefer not to say what category of business it is.

    You can find a range of folks that provide "high risk" processing by checking some e cig payment processors. You can typically find those folks because they have recently added that sorta thing as a revenue stream for themselves. They will typically deal with other things as well.

    In order to get my client situated I had to have them set up a corporate presence(LLC) in the US and have a US signatory with sound credit.

    The client was in Canada though so you should have an easier time at this.

    That should help narrow things down a bit.

    Depending on your niche i cant really recommend one, but if your hosting and web designing and similar service provider as those two i would recommend powerpay.

    What ever you do stay away from iPayment and Firstdata they accept any merchant account but once you run transactions they put it on hold.

    I know the owners of PlatPay.com. If they can't get you set up they will for sure be able to tell you where to go to get a high risk account.

    CDG C.ommerce has the best customer service I've ever experienced with a merchant account provider. I can't speak on how lax they are with high-risk businesses though, but if you talk to a person on the phone you have a better chance of getting the account
