Having a blog - better to use popular blog sites or your own site?

    Hello,

I have a new website and want to support it by having a blog related to the subject of the website. My question is whether it is better to have is hosted on one of those popular blog sites (i.e. blogger.com etc) or have it incorporated as a part of my website?

Having it within a website - it's naturally incorporated, part of the site - and easier to go from blog pages to other content (my assumption). My new website is regularly crawled by Google etc. - will it make any difference if I have the same content on blogger.com versus my website?

Can anybody list some pros and cons?

    Thanks.

Host it on your server for sure! You can control everything and not have to worry about blogger or whoever taking your account down ever. If it is on your server connected to your website, I think that google will be more likely to pick up your blog posts regularly since your site is already crawled frequently.

Only advantage I see for hosting it on a blogger account is that you can build up some good backlinks to your own site from the blog, increasing your search rankings

if you have your own space then if would be better you host it yourself. and since you said your site is been crawled frequently then that would be good for your blog and your site too.

I have 4 blogs. Only one is on my own website and it has the least clicking!
