Yes. It takes a few minutes for it to appear as published and once I clicked on save and it said it'd saved it but then it wasn't there so I had to write it again.
They allow more than one article on exactly the same, so even though it's new, you can't start a subject a know you'll be the authority on it.
A coworker posted his first Knol this week and was trying to get me to write one - as someone that uses Wikipedia sometimes I thought it was interesting that Google is getting into this space. But when the 800 pound gorilla starts playing Donkey Kong every wants to see his score (ok I don't even know what that even means) . Well I will give it a shot now and see how long it takes to set up a quick profile and write a three paragraph Knol about Affiliate Marketing and get it approved. I already have a google account so that should help speed things up. You can see the start time by my post data. OK here gos my first Knol ! Luke Smith Motive Interactive Affiliate Network
OK I am finished and I have to say writting the artical takes a while while posting it and sending it live on Knol is quick. I could not verify my name as real using credit card or voice and found that part hard. Also since google had all my friend feed infomation they gave me the option to link the artical with my Social Networking - I posted the link on Firend Feed just in case. You can see the total time to write and post one long Knol is around an hour - the actual time to edit the profile and enter it as a knol and see it go live is less then 5 mins. I had the option to post links and you seem to be able to put affiliate links into Knol which I found interesting - but maybe a moderator would notice at some point. I can't wait to see how the Knol is received and how much traffic a knol can send to my sites and links. Here it is : knol.google.com/k/luke-smith
Hmm im asking me, if it makes sense to write some knols now cause of the Age bonus the articles could get. Perhaps older articles rank better in the future
It's a bit weird. I wrote a knol last week, and then i logged out and did a search from the knol homepage, and my knol appeared in the search results. And today I went again and did the same search but it wasn't there. So i logged in, and did the search again, and it was there.
