I seen a new mod "thread marking" and honestly, I like the looks and sound of it.

just would like to get your views on zoints, have you used it ? has it helped your site out ? what don't you like about it ?

    thanks

btw, this is my zoints profile, I made it a month ago, and haven't touched it http://loco.zoints.com I'm not really sure what I can do with it yet..lol

Do you get paid for this stuff?

All of a sudden you of all people are not sure about something?

    Give me a break!

I have it installed and it is just collecting dust. No one uses it and no one seems to care about it.

It seems like our condition is the same, though I am a step ahead (if you haven't installed Zoints on your vBulletin).

I installed it about 18 or 19hrs ago. As far as the features are concerned, I'm sure that it's a feature rich and highly powerful (if you talk staying in the FREE segment) SEO tool for a vB powered community. I'm using it on my vB 3.6.1 and it's working fine.

I'll post my updates in few days according to the results.

    Thanks,

The only real mod that I'm thinking about using zoints with is the thread tagging system..

but I'm curious on the amount of traffic you or I would be able to achieve with being connected to the zoints network..

and no, I haven't installed it.. just made that profile..

    You are welcome! :)

Yeah! The Zoints thread tagging system sounds great. I'll be installing it on my board in the next few hours. I just finished configuring the Zoints profile integration in my vB board.

I have been using Zoints for a long time now. In fact, one of my communities was the first forum to join zoints. :)

Over the last 10 months there have been times where Zoints was very exciting and moving along nicely, and times where I wasn't satisfied with the rate of development and there were a few setbacks along the way. So I haven't always been the biggest supporter of it, but I stuck it out through all the alpha and beta testing and boy am I glad I did. Zoints has developed a product that is truly taking forums to a whole new level. I could make this a 5 page post, but I'll try and keep it concise. Feel free to ask questions, I'd be happy to share my own experiences with it.

Zoints has helped my forums in a number of ways. First and foremost it benefits my forums and the members, and it also has shown promising ways to reward the forum owners who use it.

    1. Forums are all about expressing ourselves and connecting with others. Zoints has taken this and expanded it tenfold. My members and I now have endless ways to express ourselves and to connect with people of similar interests. From the user-friendly open-ended profile system, to the interest tags, to shoutboxes and discussions...everything Zoints is doing is enabling everyone to connect with more people, and to inject their personality onto the web in using a system that is very intuitive and easy to figure out. Myspace is great, but how many myspace design sites are there? How many people actually know how to code html?

    2. The users at Zoints are by far more mature and intelligent than those at other social networking sites. Forum users as a whole are more experienced with social interaction on the web, and they are usually a little older than Myspace users, so it only makes sense that they tend to conduct themselves in a more mature manner on a forum-based social network.

    3. Zoints helps bring traffic to my sites. On every single one of my members profiles, there are links to my sites. Their friends see my link and check it out, bringing us more members. People who have never visited forums find Zoints, see a link to my forums, and they come see what goes on at a forum. Most of them end up joining. Even if they don't join my forum, I'm glad to see more people joining forums, period. Forums are a great resource for everyone and the more people who find them, the better. You can't win them all, but if they find a forum that they truly enjoy, everyone wins. ;)

    4. Zoints uses revenue sharing, much like digitalpoint does. As the system grows, the more potential we have to earn a little extra cash just from participating.

    5. The Hacks! Wow, the team at Zoints has developed a huge number of hacks that have seriously made being a forum owner much more enjoyable. Without the 15-20 or so Zoints hacks I have installed, my job would be soo much harder. I cannot speak highly enough of their work in this department.

These are but a few reasons why I am enthusiastic about Zoints now, despite being somewhat opposed to it in the past. I saw this thread and just wanted to pop in and offer my own opinions of it, because in my opinion Zoints is something everyone should take part in. It's the single best thing to happen to forums...ever. And I'm pleased to have been a part of it from the beginning. :)

Yes I use Vb. Is there 'really' anything else worth using :)

    Gaming

Maybe it will take off. I would just be happy to see it do something....anything at this point.

    Thank you Music Man,
One thing you mentioned that I didn't know about was the profit sharing option..

I'll have to look into this more :)

I still haven't installed it on my site, but I may do so very soon :)

I'm still holding off on installing this.. I'm to busy to mess with it ATM, and I've asked some other admins to see what they think and the outlook hasn't been to positive.

I just installed the thread tagging system, and it's pretty nice so far.. I see a few bugs still though.
