    Hello DP members,

Have you had the success on cloning your site using the wptwin program?

The steps are just really straightforward and anybody could follow them. I followed the exact steps but it did not work for me. I wonder, perhaps this has something to do with my web hosting, I am using the oneandone.

Please share some of your experiences if you have tried using the wptwin in cloning your site. I have contacted their support too.

    Thanks,
    MagicLouie

I have clone a lot of blogs using WPTWIN before..and I say some of the blogs I am cloning have some issues.
I think the plugins you have installed on your Wordpress blog will affect the cloning...So don't clone a blog that has a premium plugin such as Wordpress MagicMembers which requires a serial key for every unique blog. It does not work (Plus you'll get some legal issues haha)

I guess we can clone our blog manually without using premium plugin.

To me personally, i don't see any benefits of using this plugin..

Nope I disagree, Yes You can clone a blog manually, But that's a lot of work! From database copying, every files downloading and uploading, exporting post, etc. and that's a very advance stuff for people who are starting out on exploring Wordpress.

Remember, When you install wordpress on a domain...That specific domain will be used throughout your database or MYSQL files and that means if you clone it manually, You will have to change every file in there to link back to your new domain.

It depens how fast you are actually, i clone my own blog under 10 minutes time , i guess some are faster.

If you do some Google reasearch, or YouTube search, i am sure you will find some useful tutorials how to do it.

Everyone can do if they REALLY want to learn.. Especially if we don't have the money to buy some things LOL..

If i can, i am sure everyone can! :)
