    I use skype for facebook chat.
    Today i saw that facebook realized own messenger, but i think that one started messenger is enough. I will continue using Skype.

    I still don't understand the purpose of the Facebook Messenger app when you can do the same thing in the main Facebook app.

    The purpose is many guys don't want to open facebook all the time they want online.
    They need to chat with friends and no missed chat. When we open facebook in browser and work on others page we miss many important chats from friends as we may be busy working. But in messenger we won't miss as the message will pop up in windows.
