I live in the country and see them all the time... Along with satellites, and all sorts of other bits and pieces floating around out there.

My main job involves lots of night shifts and I have seen many things move in the sky.

    Thanks Brian

Have seen something shooting but its so fast that its very difficult to make out if it really was a shooting star or just some mind deception. WOnder if the same has hepened wit everybody else.

Yes indeed... I have seen many meteoroids getting burnt while coming down. I particularly remember watching a shower like effect of several of them... falling in a heap, couple of years back! :)

I have seen it many times and it is worth watching but you have to be lucky in places where the incidence is rare...

I'm surprised that the ratio of seen and haven't seen is 10:6. Rubbish to those who say shooting stars are a rare sight. I've seen not less than 1000 shooting stars (not during meteorite rain or whatsoever). You will see them, if you would just raise your head and look up at the beautiful stars.. I used to lie on my roof every night and would only go to bed after seeing five of them. Chances are slimmer if you're living in a big city with heavy light pollution though.
