Hi, Has anyone from Pakistan received payment through western union? If yes, then what are the charges? I know that Google doesn't take any fee for sending the money but I am asking about the conversion charges. e.g Google sends payment to pakistan in US $$, So what are the charges or commission that WU takes for converting those $$ into the Pakistan Local currency i.e Rs.? If google sends me $300 through WU and conversion rates on that particular day when receiving payments are 1$=60 Rs then will WU people give me 18,000 Rs? or will they take $x as their comission? like the local banks usually charge anything between $3-$10 for conversion.
The WU payments are still pending. You will get the amount based on conversion rate of the time you go to WU counter (For example: Right now it is 60.55 PKR / US$).
Thanks! but no one really answered my question? Do WU people take any commission? @apnits: I'm not eligible for payment this month. So kindly answer my question about commission after you'll receive your payment for this month.
No Western Union does not take commission. The sender is usually pays the sending fees which Google is currently paying. I'm not sure if this is valid for all countries but you can choose to get your money in dollars avoiding the low conversion rates of Western Union. The difference is not much but if you want to save its better to receive it in dollars and go to a money changer.
Is WU's exchange rates available online? Or we do have to personally go to the WU counter to inquire?
