IN a nutshell, you join a site that provides 250 articles a month to their members. Members can use the articles as their own and membership is capped at a certain number so the articles don't get duplicated too many times. You ever done this? Are these popular?
I've never heard of anything like this, but I'm curious--couldn't Google pick this up as "duplicate content" and lower the rank of your website? I suppose such a thing could be beneficial, but there are also downsides to this as well. What if your readers discover that you're doing this? Will this change their impression of your website? (Probably not, but still another valid question to ask yourself.)
I guess there would be a couple of issues too look at. 1) Are they likely to ramp up the membership over the stated max if theres money to be made? 2) Would the articles be broad enough in there coverage to cover a good range of topics? Do any of these people have experience in the industries there writing about? The main issue i guess is a balance between the website owners earning enough from a limited membership (ie small) to continue the service into the future. Will the quality of writing also continue into the future...I could see a market for this type of service but getting the balance right could be tricky...not to mention trusting the people running it to night up the membership numbers into the thousands overnight.
