never. good has many datacenters, many connections, thousands of servers for failover solutions...once there was a big fire at one datacenter and 6 firetrucks were needed to put it out i wonder if they were offline THEN? i didnt think so mk
I have noticed a lot of weird things about google the past few days. There was a time when i was searching for something and when i reached the 3rd page, it said something like "sorry you're using too much query". I don't remember the exact phrase that appeard but its something like that. Today, i did a query site:www.mysite.com and upon reaching 2nd page, i was presented with the "See ommitted results" Geezzz! I have 46,600 indexed pages and now there are only lik 8 that was indexed.
Google is a large company and i don't think they will have a downtime. They will lose thousand G in less than 5 minutes if their system is offline
Yes, very often for the last year, however downtime is usually from a few seconds to several minutes, as well as displaying error messages about it like any other website, specially at Gmail.
I am in USA..and can honestly say..i have NEVER seen google down..Im still fairly new but that answers the question
Uhm is everyone in this thread talking out of their ass? Of course it can go down, and it has gone down. A year or two ago they had DNS issues for their .com version, which took it offline for a while.
a couple of years ago google was down but it was due to a ddos attack on the nameservers (dns) not their actual servers.
i heared about google site down but didn't happend to me and i don't think so that google site will b down.
Not impossible at all, you can have 10,000,000 servers but if your namesevers fail then you're screwed.
That is called communism and filtering of free knowledge / information exchange. Sorry, you just remembered me of an old article where I read about such things that China's gov is filtering various Google search results... *crazy*
