I am a writer. Going through this thread has helped me immensely to clear my thoughts regarding my writing biz plans. I am myslf a knowledge hound. I enjoy writing. I was not sure whether I should concentrate on quality writing or general writing. I was also confused about choice of niches. This thread has helped me to clear my confusion. Thanks everybody for the contribution. ppdhanda
Fantastic informations I found here. There arent many people here who write articles for more than $15...
On the contrary, the majority of article writers make much more than that. It all depends on who you are, what you can write, and how well. You just see offers in the BST forum for much less, because they are less skilled. Higher skilled writers usually don't post there. You can still find good buyers don't get me wrong. I signed on a bunch of new clients recently for much more than $15 per article.
I'm sorry... but I charge quite a bit more than $15/article. That should answer the PM you sent me about my rates
Thanks Zac! Still, trying to battle the half cent per word writers can be a challenge. When it comes down to it I guess people are still driven to short term results and stingy with their almighty dollar.
Better yet, if your going to buy cheap content why not just write it yourself so that it is free content. If its not worth your time then its hardly worth your money if its poor quality.
Thank you for this thread zac439 I have no time to write my own articles, and I started looking here for writers, I tried the cheap ones and the result is not very good. Lately I found another writer, more expensive but comparing to the others it was cheaper for the quality which is provided. I am thinking about increasing his rates, as I am very happy with that articles. I have not published them, but I hope to see results soon. Go for quality!!
I have one client that I still charge $15/article, but he's been with me for nearly a year. Nobody else gets that rate...anymore. When I first started, like most newcomers, I sold my services for much less than they were worth, just to get started. I think it's like paying your dues; when no one's heard of you yet, they're not likely to pay the best rates for your work, even if it's totally worth it. Honey
Hey zac439, any new updates? are you updating your site still or have left it? what about traffic and have you earned anymore green?
That is really a good information you are sharing here. Geee....If only I could be like you. I never thought this could be possible but from the figure shown by you, this is somehow unbelievable. I just can't imagine the articles which I sold previously are being used to generate even better income.
Ah, no more updates! To curb your curiosity, I'll let two things slide: 1. I'm under a redesign right now, and Google Analytics was removed for the time being 2. I've made well over $150 to date, with no new content in 2-3 weeks I believe. (Redesign is taking a lot more time than I'd like.)
Wow, writing is a tough market. I guess creative writing is the best way to go for a big payoff. Of course, most of them are starving. eek
...hmmm ... My first thought when I read this title was .. "hell no!"... I guess I'm in that category that doesn't feel $15 is enough to touch my keyboard for, let alone write out 500 words of good content. However, that's if I'm selling the content or writing it for someone else as a freelancer. If I'm writing the content for my own web site, I would be very disappointed if I didn't bring in over $20 for the first month and at least $15 for the second, falling in reasonable increments as months progress from there. However, again that is my goal set, and heck, I'm unrealistic in most areas of my life. I would have to say that if anyone pressed goals on me like I do, I'd kill them.
Awesome. I have one article that to date has over 11,000 views after 7 weeks. I did spend time researching it and writing it and didn't just bundle up keywords in sentences. Thanks for pointing out the value of good content. I can't say I do as much article writing as I do ad writing but every once in a while I have to stretch that journalism muscle.
Ahh, finally I've landed on a thread with people interested in Good Quality Conent!! Looks like i've met my match! (**Sigh**)...Anyhow, I've posted a thread (perhaps in the wrong place) regarding a '2000 Word Business Report' I need done for my Uni course. Please do get back to me with a quote. The "FULL" requirements are intricately detailed in this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=5961284#post5961284 I know someone here can take on this challenge. I would have done it myself, but I'm a little busy. Warm Regards Everyone...
