Have you ever changed size of link unit/

I know it's not allowed, but I needed a link unit to be 148x90. I was debating either increasing the size of the 120x90 version or decreasing the size of the 160x90 version. I chose the former, since it shouldn't block out any wider ads.

Has anyone done this? Did you get penalized? Does google really care?

I never tried no, because that's not allowed, so I don't want to try since I'm not going to use it anyway.

    well,
changing the adcode may ban your account. I suggest you not to do that.

Modifying the Google Ad codes is against the Google TOS. You must comply with the TOS if you wish to have a risk free environment for your Google AdSense account.

It's not worth it, all it will take is a competitor to report your website with the altered code.

Why not just pad a 120x90? You know, put some extra space around it but not change the actual adsense code...or am I missing something here?
