I have not used eBay, so no, but I see a lot of "too good to be true" or "100% scam" offers all over there...

    Yep.

I won a pair of Bose speakers. Paid US$350 for them to come from US to Australia. Never received them. After a few months of GENTLE persuasion. The guy coughed up the money. :D

I used to sell on eBay daily, and buyers did not pay several times, but that's not really being scammed. I don't buy that much, and every time I have, I've been lucky enough to always experience great transactions. I don't buy from anyone with too much negative (or zero) feedback though. That certainly helps.

Well, not exactly scammed, but I didn't receive an item I bought and then I asked them about it. They ruin my 100 rating with a bad feedback. I couldn't even dent theirs with a bad rating because they had several thousand. I never got my item or my money back. Their lame 'square trade' didn't do a thing to help, nor did their customer service.

    I HATE Ebay.

You have to watch who you are dealing with. I've bought a lot of expensive stuff from ebay stores or ebay 'business' sellers and have had no problem.

I haven't but my dad did. My dad isn't the most tech savvy person. In fact, he fits into the category of those people who really don't like to keep up with technology unless he deliberately sees the benefit. He had one of the first computers back in the day, but still prefers using an old version of Wordperfect for word processing. He was one of the first with a cell phone as well but for business reasons only.

Anyhow, he fell into a scam of paying someone using Western Union. Western Union is the absolute worst at helping people who get scammed too.

I wasn't scammed but alot of my auctions were finished because scammers decided that they would press the BIN button then suddenly close there account!

I hate to say it, But ebay is saturated with scammers now, its hard to do serious business on there

I buy and sell frequently on ebay and rarely have any type of problem. I think the ratio of scammers is about the same whether you're looking at ebay, or site point or even this forum.

Where there is money there are always people looking to separate it from you.

You live in Australia? wowzorz. :D

I haven't been scammed, but I've been quite annoyed when a few people have bid and not paid for a few things I was selling.

I've used eBay a lot of times, and I've only been scammed once. I bought a CD which never arrived, and the seller magically disappeared.

But I will certainly use eBay in the future too. It's not THAT dangerous, if you know how to use it.

I've been sort of scammed when i bought a few MP4 8GB players (which turned out to be 1GB). Although i read about memory hacks later and i fully admit i was my fault. :)
