Have you ever been Ripped Off / Scammed?

oh yeah.. i've been scammed by various numbers of people, everyone basiclly has, its normal, no worries

 

Wow. This thread scares me. Though nobody gave any concrete advice on how this can be prevented. Do similar payment systems, e.g. Moneybookers, etc., have this same issue?

 

If you have been on the internet enough everyone has.

 

i got a designer to make me a template over msn messenger and the uk got the floods and he said he had to move out his house well were he lived his area or town wasnt effected and when i contacted him i couldnt cause he has blocked me and stole my $300 but oh well he used to own sconner.net shaun conner dont work with him what so ever

 

I got scammed 150 dollars by a guy doing that. I gave him my site and he filed a fraud report and said he never authorized payment. He of course got his money back.

 

He actually said five grand but you're correct. You need to learn to play by their rules.

It seems I might be the opposite, I have used ebay ALOT and when I was younger, I would always send money orders, well I sent a 390 dollar money order for a car part to a guy who had 60+ positive feedback and never got my item. I got his account banned months later, alot of good that did. Rule of thumb, when dealing in transactions dont depend on third parties to protect your money, depend on yourself.
