No, I've never been homeless and hope to keep it that way, but who knows what will happen 20 years down the road. It does seem pretty hard to be homeless in North America if you are sane, because almost anyone can get a job that will pay enough money to put a roof over your head.
That's pretty cavalier to have a comment like that. Especially since you seem to have not had any kind of experience with being homeless. Also, you're right- anyone can get a job here in North America. what you fail to say is whether you have a job that is economically viable to support a household. Believe me, I didn't want me and my family to be homeless but when you only have 1 income and you get sick there aren't very many choices available.
Oh, that must have been tough! I hope things are going well now for you and your family. A car is hardly a place to recover from any kind of surgery, especially of one's noodle.
I haven't been homeless yet and I hope I never will, but we did from one rental home to another when I was still in high school.
If you have your health, it's pretty hard to be homeless in the US. Me and my family came to this country with nothing, but we have never been homeless. Hard work and good health helps a lot.
What really sucked is the fact that as a homeless "disabled" veteran, there was no safety net available here in Florida. As a vet it is even worse because there are no programs or assistance for vets with families. What would I look like leaving my wife and kids in a car and me trotting off to veteran's homeless shelter.
Too bad we have to read about stuff like this on a forum. They don't bother with these problems on tv, the news etc.
I've never been homeless which is a very good thing. Unfortunately many people have to pass through such situations in their lives. Here is Portugal we don't have many homeless people but we do have many people living from pay check to pay check.
I was living out my car for a short spell in college, but that was by choice. It wasn't too bad actually, but the smell was horendous! That car never did recuperate. I had to give it away because it smelled like cheese had rotted in it. Man that's making my stomach turn now as I think about it.
luckily for me, never experience become a homeless. But see few people who sleeping at the park make me felt how lucky to have a place to sleep and surfing internet gotlink, who that person?
Nah these were in the old days.. were used to get drunk and fail at school. I'm too old for school now.
Nope! But I learned a long time ago. Never say Never! Anyone at anytime could lose everything. I know what it's like to be broke. lol
