My site is something to do with software so I often receive messages from people asking me how to use this app or what can they do with that program. Recently I consider if I can make some video clips telling visitors to get familiar with those software. Well this idea occurs when I come across with one software introduction video at YouTube. I think that will be a quite good way and save a lot of time replying email to the questioners on the same questions. Since I'm quite new about it, anyone with experience can share me some tips? PS: I'm still searching for good apps, sigh...
You would need screen capture software. You have 2 main choices Camtasia which has a free trial but after that cost $300 and well worth it. There is also free software called Camstudio. It is limited in functions but still works quite well. Todd Bennett
This is a gold mine. When you make these videos, you can sell them very easily and at premium prices. There's a guy on TV here in the US who's become a multimillionaire doing that with CD-based videos. Camtasia is good. There's an open source alternative (CamStudio) that has fewer features, but works well... http://camstudio.org/ For best results, you'll need a better FLV converter and some higher-quality codecs, but this will get you started.
Well, thanks for sharing ideas two big uncles I wonder if I can record my voice in video and perhaps those two apps Todd tells me can make it. It's my first time to make attempt on creating video so $300 will be quite a big bang for me, I will have a try and search for other cheaper (freeware is really appreciated) one. @ CDardklock I haven't realised such a good thing until you told there were successful stories before. Perhaps I will try it in the furture and now I just do my video in a simpler purpose. Thanks for your gold mine.
http://camstudio.org/ - Totally free. And yes, it will record your voice along with the video. Think of it like any other infoproduct business: start with something free, get an audience that loves your work, and then put out something with a price tag. How is your spoken English? I have a crazy idea that we might want to work together on...
You can use a screen recorder program to make a video tutorial. To put it to webpage, you'd better use FLV as video format. Because FLV is compatible with most operating systems and web browsers. You can check Moyea Web Player - http://www.playerdiy.com/ which is a quick solution to add FLV to webpage. Besides, you can use it to easily create custom FLV player with playlist for website. This is example - http://www.playerdiy.com/support/tutorial/customize-flash-video-player.html Here you can get Christmas FLV player skin of Moyea Web Player
Screen recording is a very good way to explain to people how software works. It even can drive traffic to your site.
I use videos all the time to promote my sites, I use a free program Camstudio for screen capture 'how to' videos
@ CDardklock I do like to earn some pocket money in that way but that will be another story in the future (I suppose so ) @ dream party thanks dude but it seems a shareware of $99+alpha, let me think about it and continue my searching... Thanks all uncles and aunts (if there are). I'll work my first video out soon in these days and share my experience with you, looking forward to see your suggestion
