Hello, Well im planning on going to china soon, and I need to raise some money to be able to go to china. Currently Im trying to advertise that im looking for donations, but No one really seems to care. Well I was wondering if anyuone who has been to china likes it? Because im trying to get $5,000 together to be able to go. How was the trip? And what did you see when you were there? What are some key places I can not, not miss? I would like to know, so I can remember. Also I am lookign for donations form anyone who is kind enough to pay me. I ensure you that right now my number one goal is to raise money for that trip, so I dont have any reason to use it on anything else. Please respond with the questions about the triup I asked for I really want to know!!
Depending on what you want to do in china you definatly don't need 5000 dollars.. If you have a few months free time you could come over for around 2000 and teach here, then travel each month when you get paid. Course thats living in a comfortable apt in shanghai. 5000 would definatly buy you a tour all around china i guess. I enjoyed huanshan mountain, and hangzhou's lake.. there is a lot to see here, but really you should stay a while to learn the culture if your coming. Thats why i would recommend living here for a bit as a teacher. Its easy to find a job if your a native english speaker. As for language being a problem.. its fairly easy to find english speakers in any of the bigger cities, just look for one of the younger better looking girls
I also think $5000 is more than enough, don’t know why you need so much money. I guess prices also depend from where you are flying from. Can we make a good living from teaching if we have a Degree in Teaching Portuguese and English?
I went for 10 days in 2002/3. It was excellent. It certainly didn't cost me nearly $5000 though (more like a third), including the 10 hour flight! Who is charging you that, and for how long?! I went to Beijing and saw all the usaul tourist stuff. Oh and out to the Great Wall where it was about -12c in temperature. I still managed to sweat walking up the steeper parts! But I think you could go anywhere there and it would be cool. For me it was the first totally "foreign" country I've been to (I've been all around Europe, the US and Canada. But none of them actually seem foreign to me )
I would love to go and see the 3 gorges dam once it is completed. Im sure some of you have heard about it. this thing is absolutely massive.
i havent been yet but i wanna visit far east countries when i earn much money. also i wonder Thibet and TAj-Mahal.
I would love to go to the US or Australia and take a road trip vacation during those sultry summer nights with an open top roof and warm air blowing across the face as you drive along.
5,000 is the price for airfare, food, a place to sleep and spending money. Yea I think its a cool deal, you guys pretty much said its a great trip. Thanks for some of the answers everyone! Im going to write this down so I can remember.
5k should get you all around china for sure.. the 2k i brought when i first came paid for the first few months of living expenses in shanghai which costs more then any other place in china, though Beijing is a bout equal (and i'm not counting HK). If you have a degree in teaching english you can likely get a job here teaching at a university which is pretty nice. Or you could have a job teaching at one of the higher end private schools. Very nice benefits and you would make a round 2k a month USD.. Currently I make 8000 which is around basic for most of the non-chinese in town since we have expensive habits.. like starbucks and going to bars. Some things are expensive some are cheap.. actually i think i wrote a blog post about this just a sec... Yep here it is a post i made all about teaching in china. The longer your here the easier it is to travel.. you (foxtrot) might consider hiring or finding a pretty chinese guide to show you around china and translate. Lots of girls would likely not even need to get paid they'll just go with you to travel.. try shanghai.asiaxpat.com and post a classified into the traveling area.
Maybe.. I only got a full time job in websites 5 months ago though i'd been doing programming and design for around 4 years. I'll stay here at this job learning SEO for a while, its a great opportunity. After that I would like to get enough money going per month generated from my websites (5 directories, 1 myspace resources, and 1 homepage so far) that i can go traveling for a while. Work around 10 hours per week and slowly build income while still traveling.
Good for you! i might come back to work full time online soon...save up some money and go to school again
