I see many people post their bad experiences with godaddy. Well I am not the exception. I am thinking of opening a blog about godaddy rip offs. Post if you have that experience

Their hosting looks like crap so I don't use it but I do use their domains and they work fine.

Well, I wasn't really ripped off, but I was purchasing a domain a long time ago, and they have all these pages when you are buying a domain, and I clicked something to add $20 dollars or something, and I couldn't refund it.

I only have minimal sites on godaddy now just because I can't transfer them YET, but once I can, I will transfer them to my namecheap account where the rest of my domains are.

That depends if they were indeed "ripoffs". But good luck on the venture.

Before few days I backordered one domain there, I completed all the process which I always do but after 5 days when I logged in my account to check process then I found that, that domain was not processed and nothing was there, I didn't money because they are giving point to use for future but I missed that PR5 Domain with more than 3K backlinks :(

I find if you use their tool to search availability of a domain and don't subsequently purchase the domain that it always seems to get 'registered' by 'someone'...I missed out on a domain I wanted because I decided to check elsewhere for pricing, when I got back it had mysteriously been taken. My suspicions raised i checked my theory, it seems no matter how ridiculous a combination of letters and numbers you type in someone will still register it..I read somewhere else on this forum that someone discovered this as well..if they were in the UK i would have them for that, lol

Someone used my stepbrothers credit card fraudulently to pay for Go Daddy services. Many months, emails and phone calls later, they'd still done nothing about it.

I always use Godaddy because I am a domain name flipper and it is the most well known and hassle free way to transfer a domain to someone else. I had one very big problem once. I registered an amazing name..one that had sold a few years back for over $25000...for some reason it didn't show up in my account! Godaddy sent me a message saying it was a mistake, and the domain belongs to someone else? Yeah ok!

I got domains there pretty cheap so far, some around 1.00 others 6.50. I wanted to buy from the domain aftermarket but it was a few dollars to sign up, so I didn't do it yet, not sure if it's worth the time.

You should contact your credit card company when fraudulent purchases are made on your credit card. A merchant in any industry is unlikely to voluntarily reverse the transaction when they are left holding the bill.

After using them for 2 years with my clients, I haven't been ripped off yet.. though I only maintain my client's hosting at the starting stage of joining godaddy, so I'm not fully sure about the long run.

I've heard of some rip off incidents too.

Well, compared to some registrars, like Registerfly, for example, GD are a bastion of honesty. Having said that, they do have an awful lot of upsells. You have to try pretty hard not to click something you don't need.
