Interesting. short enough w will know how google will treat .co. it's pretty early to say, I'm sure there's lot of .co concepts/projects are going on, right this second maybe. google will understand totally that .co is conceived as global for consumers/traffic and then the natural reaction will be to rank it appropriately.
I have many domain names and been around for years. all my domains are .com, .net and .org. this is the first time i grab something else, if i was attracted enough by it, i'm sure there other people that think the same therefore it's an opportunity to try out.

    Good luck

... who didn't think social media would evolve and develop and eventually become huge. Lots of people did. Thus, the use of forums which started early social media - and enabled a way for people to share ideas and thoughts over text message. It was bound to happen. I mean, social media was always thought to have a future in advancement - but .co domains? Nope.

Or, they've been in the industry since 2003 (or before) and realize it's a bunch of BS - .co is on the same exact level as .tk, .me. and .tv.
What? No it's not. This is like comparing a AAA baseball team to an MLB team and saying they are almost they same. .CO is a ccTLD. .COM is a gTLD. MAJOR DEFERENCE.

And unfortunately, that difference is HINDERING.

False, even if it is true - it puts it about with .tv. It is a ccTLD. A country-code domain. For you to think any differently, you must have invested a great deal of your $$ into this crap.

99.9% of the .co market is sellers. No one wants this crap. For you to have even thought it was worth registering - well you must have fallen victim to "marketing" techniques. Hahaha

Who told you this?... Haha false.

Yeah if I were you i'd edit out that entire paragraph ASAP. Or, I guess, you can always register with another username in the future.

I bought a few, but this seems to be the same vicious cycle as the .me public release...

They're expensive, get no type-in traffic, and are country coded.

I was able to get a few generic ones. In the past week, I haven not gotten a single type-in. Planning on selling them before they expire, and I'm also going to get rid of all of my one-word .me's. Even from a branding standpoint, I don't see much value in them.

HOWEVER, I'm still investing in Spanish word .co's, that seems to make the most sense.

well the hype and marketing before hand was impressive
if ever i need to publicise something thats wrong and pure useless to the majority of society i will be looking these guys up :)
    .co = cctld
pcpro.co.uk article is nothing more than some guy bumping himself up

if thats the only thing you can grip onto to back yourself up then thats pretty scary huh ?

did you all believe they found a world war one plane on the moon when it was printed in the sunday sport ?

for some of us buying a few .co's is just some fun speculation. I know alot of people might have invested alot of moolah into this extension and i honestly wish everyone the best of success. I myself am just content with the three that i have and will be trying to make the most out of them.

The ones that i do have seem to be getting a few visitors a day. I think between them they have had about 20 views in the past 3 days.

Awesome, it is actually the most logical thing to do with the .co's. You're like the first person on DP who is actually using them they way they were supposed to be used.

    KUDOS!

I recently purchased 30 .co domain that were search term related. I am in the process of working these domains through the seo process, directory submissions, blogs, social networking etc.... The domains I purchased all have keywords that cost $4.00 + on google adwords. At the end of the day I will not know for 30 to 60 days if this investment pays off and I will be receiving free organic traffic. Here is a sample of some my domains. Free free to comment

kitchenfaucet.co - currently working on this site right now.
    kohlerfaucets.co
    showerhead.co
    Towelbars.co

as you can see they are home improvement related and so are the rest. So only time will tell if google will treat us fair, when it comes to ranking with these valuable keywords.

Yes..We cannot ignore .co domains. They are definitely going to be on par with .com and every company would want to change their domain name from .com to .co soon.

Care to share the logic behind your optimism?
I see the hype associated with .co as nothing but shrewd marketing ploy to make people chase it! :(
