Have we been taken over by people from eastern europe?

I don't know the exact figures but they are coming by hundreds everyday, now road signs ar ein polish and else.Don't tell me I am racist but this is the UK not eastern europe.

Like I said consult your government or get your hands dirty and do the job they are doing and you "UK" people don't want to If you get your hands dirty there is one immigrant less for you to worry about hehe.

 

why should we do "dirty jobs" like you said, as a well educated person i do not need to do that i can find myself a job without getting my hands dirty. Even if British people who cannot fond a job start accepting low aid jobs it doesn't mean that polish/slovaks and the rest will stop coming over here.

 

The problem is, they can't afford to compete with the wages.
You can't expect a citizen of an industrialized nation to compete with the wages paid to third world workers. It simply can't be done.

I'm an american now, but I realize there are people starving in the world and that's why I give to charity and support immigraton(legal or illegal) who are willing to work for a better life.
You wouldn't talk like that if you would have lived in another country half your life.

Raising the minimum wage could be the solution to this. If a local person can earn say $ 50,000 an year as a construction worker, he wouldn't mind getting his hands dirty.

 

The island I live on is filled with eastern europeans

Most of the jobs here is low paying service industry, and rents and real estate are high as a major city

I must assume that there willingness to work for a low wage and live with a ton of roomates is part of the reason they are here.

I think its cool they are here, but they probably contribute to depressing the wages

I don't know how many are here illegally

I l live in the UK where people from eastern europe are invading us bythe minute, all I hear from morning up to the evening i sthem talking in their language, I miss people talking in english. it's just polish slovaq or whatever , and according to the uk newspapers they are now claiming benefits more and more

 

The world is getting 'smaller' and people are more mobile. One day, we will find every country has all sorts of people living in it happily.
