Okay, I have finally managed to become somewhat satisfied with my landing page, and thought that I would ask all of you to critique it. Please keep in mind that I have never done anything more complicated than simple Wordpress before, and I had no idea how to make a banner. If you find something you think is awful on my page, I would appreciate any advice on how I can fix it, as I am still stumbling around the Joomla setup. I plan to add more content pages, but wanted to get something set up to catch my clicks from ezinearticles. Thanks in advance for any advice that you can give. http://treatayeastinfection.com/
Well, first thing I noticed right off the hop is the title, "Welcome To The Frontpage" -- probably not an eye catcher. heh. Otherwise, I'm no expert so I don't know much of anything else.
I'd say you need to be more confident and not plead for mercy before anything happens. People would much rather help someone confident and willing to learn than someone that whines in desperation, just a tip. You're a newbie and this forum is all about the pros helping out the newbies, no one is going to scream at you for wanting to learn, especially a fine mother of young children such as yourself (or was that really true O_O) And your page looks good, you might want to change the "welcome to the frontpage" thing to "Welcome to my story" or something similar. You could also add a para or two suggesting that you recommended this treatment to other non-pregnant women or maybe even a man who found it incredibly useful.
The copy writing itself seems good. The layout/fonts used isn't. One column pages with large call to action texts/buttons work best, even though they look ugly.
Thanks for the input everyone! Mikey1090- I tried a single column layout with large calls to action before this one, and it resulted in 0 hops. With this one, almost everyone who clicked through from EA also clicked to the product page. I know the fonts are small, and I didn't realize how small they would have to be when I chose the layout, so I am going to try to make it work until I have time to do another page. I do get what you are saying though. MedicAffiliate - I am a mother of four boys, that much is true, but that isn't really my life story on the site, nor my picture lol. It is my real story and picture on EA though. Also, I didn't mean to come across as whiny, I just was trying to think of a eye catching title, I guess I failed lol. I have been trying to remove that "welcome to the front page" title, but haven't been able to locate where it is to delete it yet. Thanks again everyone!
I have to say it looks good, I probably would not have noticed the header being a bit off if you hadnt wrote about it in your post. Many of my best review pages have little formatting at all and perform well. I think its more about content and targeted traffic as long it flows and doesn't hurt your eyes.
Joomla is a pretty full on CMS to use for a one page lp! looks good. you could think about tracking the links too. so change the TID from just WEB to leftban, rightban, footer or something. cloak them with php redirects. change Administrator to the pen name you are using. make it more personal. the Yeast Infection Cure link on the left is borked.
website layout is wrong.... it just doesnt look too good.... and all important information is below the page fold.... however text write-up is good i think.. your links on the left sidebar dont all work...

Shand0 and zxlewi - I know the banner is pretty big, and cuts the text in half, but I am in hopes that visitors will at least scroll down one tiny bit to read some of what I have to say. I don't know how to change the main logo size, as it is built into an image in the template, but I am working on it. Thanks for your comments. mil123- Thanks for the comments as well. I am trying to figure out how to change all of that info to make it more personal, but it is slow going as I am totally unfamiliar with Joomla. I did fix the link on the left though. The landing page seems very good.. the information seems true and is quite convincing. one thing i can suggest you is to cloak your links. just make a new file named "beastyeast.php" and in that file have the following < ?php header("location:http://affiliates.clickbank.hop.whatever"); ?> instead of the link here, use your affiliate link. Now the url to go to the product will be yoursite.com/beastyeast.php or if you have the php file in a folder recommend, then the url wil be yoursite.com/recommend/beastyeast.php i hope that helps..
