Have I been Smart Priced?

    Hi All!

All my sites are mainly entertainment. Very recently I have just started in another niche. Well, the first click was $4+ (WOW). Then $2+, then 2 for $1.38 and so on down to today when the 4 clicks were .10 cents (total).

Now, this all happened over about 1 week period. What is this all about? Do the entertainment sites have something to do with this?

    Thanks for any insight!
    Joe

What you probably read stated for you to remove the pub id from the adsense code. By doing that, google would list higher paying ads on your site since it will be PSA. Then after 3-4 days you would place your Pub ID back and enjoy the higher cpc for the next week or so before the smart pricing begins again.

It sounds like what you experienced was just a coincidence. Smart pricing is re-calculated once a week, so you wouldn't see differences daily.

yes tlainevool is right, smart pricing is re calculated once a week, so consider traffic not smart pricing

There is no way to get out of smart pricing - if there is please tell me ;-)

What I have seen though is that on some of my older sites, earnings start to pick up after a while again after they have been live for 6 months and made around $1000. So in my view - focus on traffic and the money will follow.

    Anybody else has similar experiences?

Although i havent seen any official sources which say that Smart Pricing is re-evaluated every week, i have however found this:

To clear any doubts on smart pricing, please read the official definition from Google:

What smart pricing means for an advertiser ...

Facts about smart pricing from Inside Adsense

    Hope this helps :)
