have banned domain, so how do I get traffic?

I need some new strategies. I have been asked to manage some domains, and one of them has been banned from google.

It is still getting quite a lot of traffic, because it is a great typo of a very popular actress. Nearly all of the traffic is type in traffic.

So... what is the best way to get more traffic to the site?

I am assuming it's banned because it's a typo - but is still getting nearly 1000 hits a day. Is earning about $30 a day via adsense. This guy wants to see if I can get more traffic there.

Is there a way to see how long it has been banned?

    - btw - I wasn't aware that they do lift bans.

I don't think it's because it's optimised, think it's just a popular name that gets typed into the address bar. I just wanted to see if there were some ways other than google to drive traffic - while this option is not available to me.
