    Why you want to use check, when bank deposit option is easy and fast.

    It is Punjab National Bank check payable at par (if their branch is there in your city) and it'll take 2 days to clear (same as normal check).

    XOOM is the best for transferring!
    You will get your money in your bank account within max of 4 days,and if you have problems regarding sending money just contact me via IM and i will send your money to your bank account in INDIA just for a very few $$ ofcourse as my fees;)
