I'm sure people do make a living with similar sites online. In my experience its better to have a broad spectrum of products/services you can offer, so that you can cater to more/different types of people. Look at some eBay sellers for example, lots of them have tons and tons of feedback ratings, so I'm sure you can make good money from it however to make a full living out of it would require lots of dedication and patience to achieve that because at first you'll probably need another source of income to help fund your startup.

Yes, it can. But it may take time to grow, once it did, you can even buy other companies. For example ebay and buyincoins.

You can certainly make a good living selling physical products online

Be prepared for hard work, top notch seo to get good traffic and lots of social marketing

It won't be as easy as putting up a 1000 products and watching them sell overnight!, You will need a wide range of products you can sell as different people will want different things, May i suggest in selling Fashion for Women, Men, Kids and Baby's that way once you attract say a women and she see's an item for her child she will also purchase this from you meaning you get two sales.

Make sure the site is easy to use have all pages full of content, make sure you have your returns/exchange policy in place and visible for all people visiting your website. Try and provide A1 service so the customers keep coming back, Move into social networking and advertise it on everything! Emails, invoices, forums etc.

These are some things for you to work on in the mean time, if you need any further help please let us know!.
