Have anyone made money out of a Wiki?

I'm planning on starting a Wiki and I'm not really doing it for the money but it would be fun to know if someone has made some money out if it. Money to pay of the domain/server would be enough :)

And now I'm not talking about milliondollarwiki or similar sites that let you buy a page. I'm talking about ordinary wikis where everyone can come in and edit.

So has anyone got some small or big bucks out of his/her wiki?

Something I want to know as well, not really sure if it is feasible to run a wiki with adsense ads which would at least pay its hosting bills.

Not bad idea but It would require extensive promotion and spam control system.

ye you would have to ad adsense or something like that because it wouldnt get money otherwise, also you would need to add lots of content to it to make it popular otherwise you wont get clicks on your ads to get money.

It depends on how popular your subject is. I suppose if you started a World of Warcraft Wiki, or something similar, it would be easy to get a large amount of content and return visitors, and the ads from Adsense, if that's what you'll use should have quite a few relevant ads, so in theory you should get clicks. The only way to know for sure though is to try it, and keep us all updated.
