I'm looking to start a website based on medical terminology and where to find a medical center near you and it includes a description of the place. Like the names of the doctors, what kind of surgery they do, and the history of the place. Basically, it's like a directory but it's more specialized and has a clean, professional look to it. What do you think? Do you think I should find a professional website designer and php coder to do this large project? I would like it to be like this... http://www.mondofacto.com/
That could be a tough one to make money off. The information is already available in many places, and I know that not all that many people will research a physician before they go see one. It might be a lot of work for low return, but if you go that route, good luck with it.
the idea is good i think. but it would be very hard to make money with that. i suggest find a new one.
I would hire a professional. If you need help with design and basic functionality, please check out: www.hangnailproductions.com I would really like to be involved in something like this. Thanks and good luck!
Its a good idea, and would be a fantastic service. However, its not going to be easy to earn money on it, again people have said this but i do agree, most people do not research doctors and hospitals prior to needing them. - Unless it is cosmetic. Perhaps a smaller project, talking about the best cosmetic institutes, surgeons etc. - A directory of sorts, allowing for "sponsored" results so you can be paid money by these surgeons for their listing appearing top of specific searches. in the UK there is a site called "touchlocal.co.uk" on there you can go to specific regions of the country, or look at the country as a whole and search for mortgage brokers, builders, plumbers etc in your area, they are rated and offer the "sponsored link's" Good luck with your project anyway.
I do know that a database of doctors, history, and so on can be purchased. With something like this, if you could get your traffic going well, you could incorporate GEO advertisement targeting. So if someone is from the UK visits, doctors, clinics, and perhaps even medical schools from the UK would only be shown. You will want a professional for the programming as most any pre-made script will need to be modified to fit your needs. Good Luck!
It's not easy to find free medical terminology online courses. There are, however, ways to use the internet to learn medical terminology for little or no money. Doctors and nurses aren't the only people who benefit from learning medical terminology. Health information specialists and medical transcriptionists are some of the behind the scenes people who need to know medical terminology. It's helpful for anybody who works around healthcare to know a little bit of the language spoken there. It's even a good thing for regular old people to learn; then you know what your doctor is talking about. *** clickandinc ***
The website would be cool for sure (if properly done). But, I don't think it would be easy to monetize, I would go for selling banners to related websites and businesses, and a little adsense.
You definitely need an experienced coder plus designer to create a attractive site. Beside that, you need a team of good marketer to do the marketing for your site in order to get lot of visitor.
I think this is a very good concept and I wanted to address the idea people've been mentioning that "people don't research physicians first".. well maybe folks in certain segments of the patient world would tend to do that more? Say, OB/GYNs or maybe dentists? Just a thought... specializing might help.. Also, whenever there's not yet a need you can always create the need on your own, you know? Make people WANT to research their doctors. Make your website crucial to their peace of mind... that's what the big successful companies do.. like Coke or McDonald's or Nintendo... all things we don't technically 'need' but feel like we do
