Have a big problem with my site

    Have a big problem with my site and I hope someone can help me with suggestions etc.

    Have a gambling site (website approximately 2 1/2 years old) and is probably in one of the most competetive businesses at the moment

    Home page have received PR4 since the last update. Started noticing around 3 months ago that inner pages started loosing their PR plus lost SERPS ranking totally.

    Have a writer that has done much work for me with exclusive content for the website. I have published the content not everything at one moment rather every now and then.

    Website has around 700 backlinks in google, receives good traffic from yahoo but I need to know why google sends me 4-5 hits per day with 4000 indexed pages.

    I can say that we have totally lost serps rankings in google with this gambling site, and im wondering why google gives my inner (important pages) PR0. Certain web pages on this site has started to vanish from the google search engine in the last weeks as well.

    Website has html sitemap + sitemap xml
    Website has good related backlinks + yahoo directory
    Website is updated every single day with new changes
    Website has mostly exclusive content but also some duplicated content with links back to the author.

    Could it be that in this competetive business there are no room for duplicate content and this is why google punishes me?

    Are we in the sandbox ?

    Otherwise I have no idea anymore on where the problem lies.

    Didn't you say that you have a write that is publishing exclusive content for your site? Where is the dupe content coming from?

    It sounds like you are very focused and doing things right.

    Off hand can't give any other suggestions without your web site. Would you be able to post your URL to get a look at it?

    By the way, don't focus too much on your PR. I had a customer who's rank dropped a level at the same time google placed them on page 1 & 2 (for different searches). Previously, they were buried deep.
