Hate the new DP

I hate the new DP. I used to come to this forum regularly, but then the forum owners took the bad decision of switching from vBulletin(I believe it was vBulletin at least) to the horrible Xenforo. Not only that, but I can no longer post in BST and stuff, now that is just annoying.
I am sure you've lost a lot of members when you switched over to Xenforo, and I sure hope you continue losing more members.

It's just software. software doesn't make a forum.

Do you work for vBulletin ?

That is a possibility, but I'm not here to discuss that. XenForo is horrible. And also the requirement that I must have some 'achievements' to post in BST is ridiculous.

If I wanted to find something to complain about on this forum the software would be last on my list.

First would be the low quality spam posts that make up the bulk of many treads, putting restrictions on the BST helps deter many of the people that fill the forum with these low quality posts so I have don't have problem with that as a deterrent.

    Just my opinion.

Its not even possible to quote people properly, let alone nested quotes. XF is a shame. I am certain I dont have any low quality spam posts on this forum, yet I can't post in the BST section, and that was a major reason why I left this forum. I mean, come on.

Well, back when DP used vBulletin, I am sure it used to have multi-quote support. But XenForo makes DP look like a not-so-serious forum, and thats the best way I could put it. There are better solutions than vBulletin, sure, but XenForo is terrible. Even phpbb is better than XenForo.

phpBB does not have a good framework for building custom stuff on top of it actually, which is the biggest thing we need from the platform we use.

Besides multi-quote, what are you trying to do that you are unable to do?

Its open source, you can modify its framework if you want to. But I am not suggesting you to use phpbb, it is horrible. I am unable to post in BST. And the forum looks kinda funny with XenForo.

phpBB's framework would need so much rewriting that it would be easier to not use it and write your own from scratch.

The inability to post in BST has nothing to do with XenForo, it would be the same with vBulletin or phpBB. Just out if curiosity, what are you trying to post there?

Back when this forum ran vBulletin, I was able to post in BST just fine, but when you moved over to XenForo, you changed all the rules. I am trying to post in the secondhand licenses forum, looking for a WHMCS license.

I don't think so. What makes you feel XenForo is horrible and how vBulletin is better than XenForo? I think XenForo gives Digital Point a new community feel and its helps users to interact well....................

Well, I don't know, I just hate it. I am not saying that vBulletin is better than XenForo, but yeah, it is. Forums running vBulletin look a lot more professional even if they take hundreds of refreshes to load up(hint: WHT). This forum used to be a lot better, or at least thats what I feel, when it used to run on vBulletin.

Just go there and look for people selling one?

Also - no one could have posted there under vBulletin because that section did not exist.

I know, the second hand licenses section did not exist when the forum was running vBulletin, but anyone could post freely in the BST section back then. Also, its annoying that I don't even know what I have to do in order to be able to post there. IIRC, some people with 500+ likes or something have to like 5 of your posts in order for you to be able to post in BST. I scanned over the first page of that section, didn't find anything remotely related to WHMCS.

Sounds like you drastically misread the posting requirements. You might want to read it again (this time slower).

And BST was never for a single day open to posting from anyone. It was always only a benefit for good/contributing members. The only thing that changed is we have a better way to measure a good/contributing member (focused on quality... Before it was focused on quantity).

Speaking of WHT, wouldn't that be a better place to buy a WHMCS license anyway?

Well, only if I could find it. I've been searching for it from before I started this thread, and haven't found it yet. Ok, I just found it. Yeah, WHT would be a better place for buying a WHMCS license. So now I have to get 2 more likes in order to be post in BST. Problem is people here rarely like posts, and maybe the button doesn't exist in Suggestions and Feedback, I can't even find a like button.

Only established members (members with atleast 3 likes from 3 different members) can see the like button under every post. It does exist in Suggestions and feedback as well.
