Has twitter done this to you

First it brought back the old list of people i was following
I Was following only 17 people, twitter made it 252 on its own

Then it deleted all the people following me from the list of followers. 2000+ followers disappeared just like that.

Its still is allowing me to access my account and add tweets

What does this exactly mean am i banned without getting my account deleted or is it some problem at their end ?

 

I'm seeing the same thing on another account. I don't get it, I still get "so and so is following you on Twitter" email, but my follower count is still 0. I can also follow that account, then refresh the page, and 'Follow' is back. It's like it doesn't stick.

 

I've never noticed anything like that, but I don't check the numbers that close

And it looks like it started today.

I just posted "Something is up with Twitter Follower count (0 Followers)" at Money-Code, maybe others are experiencing the same thing. I'll be sure to post anything I find out here.

Anyhow, nope, never had that problem with twitter.

 

Could it be an issue with their servers?

 

That would be possible. I don't think they're compromised accounts though.

I would be surprised if twitter didnt know of this problem. Luckily it only affected the new accounts.

 

Thanks for the informative links. You are quite right hanji, my account isnt a compromised account as i didnt allow access to any third party web app, but i used API to broadcast my feeds and it was done at my own site, nothing malicious in it.

Finally got my all followers back 2121 in total but the amount of people i was following has still remained unchenged. Prior I did a mistake by following really useless twitter accounts and it took a lot of clicks to reduce my following from 200+ to less than 20 , will now have to work on it !
