Ive been approached by a landlord site as a possible advertising stream for a clients website. As i was checking out the stats regarding the site, it has a PR4 but when a search for the domain is entered in Google it doesnt appear. So im confused, a site which has a PR4 homepage but doesnt rank for its own domain name in Google? The site is here - www . residentiallandlord . co.uk If anyone can let me know their thoughts that would be great Thanks!
Page Rank has nothing to do with "where" you rank in google results pages. PR is a ratting of how many backlinks your site has. The site might not be showing up because of the keywords in the backlinks. With a PR of 4, that means the site has a good amount of backlinks. But you should check the keywords used in those links. Lets say that you have a site about widgets. But in your link keywords you use "visit my site." Then google thinks your site is about "visit my site", and not "widgets." Its very important to use targeted keywords in your links so google knows what your site is about. With a page rank of 4, but not showing up in google results, it might be that the person did massive link building with the wrong keywords.
