Has this latest update been given a name?

My sites got hammered on this last update. I was just wondering if it had been named since after looking through this forum, I've not seen much about the update. Did anyone else tank with the change?

I got hammered a bit as well but the ranks seem to be slowly crawling back up. In one case, DP is measuring the PageRank incorrectly.

I don't care about PR. My site's been at 5 for the last four or five years. But it's the search rank on most of my keywords that ended up getting farked.

    mopacfan,

You're not seeing many threads here about the update because the mods keep moving them to website reviews.

There are quite a few discussions going on about it at wmw http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/

For many sites it looks like G has moved all of the pages except for the home page into the supplmental index.

Do a site:www.yourdomain.com AND a site:yourdomain.com and see if its the same for you.

I have 340k pages showing up as supplemental (minus my welcome page) and traffic is down about 50%.

No wonder I havn't been able to find anything. All I've been looking in is the Google forum. Thanks for the heads up.

edit: the site command shows all of my pages indexed. I did not get lost in supplemental, thank goodness. I'm just hoping the serps come back to pre-April 15th levels.

I hope they hurry up and get past this one.

I was just starting to recover from Jagger and BD hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm not sure how much more of this I can stand.

After the "Jagger", this seems to be the "Hammer" update from Google!

I can't understand this as my site has started receiving more traffic since the update!

The "farked up" update sounds like a great name to me.

"Worst Update of The Year" sounds like a good name. At least, until the next update.

    mopacfan,

FYI - check this Big Daddy DC:

    http://64.233.161.105/search?q=site:http://www.mopacfan.com/&hl=en&lr=&start=0&sa=N

It looks like only 5 page is indexed, rest is in the supplement results..

I think this is something else. When big daddy first came out and Matt posted up the DC's I spot checked my traffic words. All were about the same, so I didn't pay attention. When someone posted up a messed up DC the other day, I peaked at it and its awful. I dunno what data is in it (or why its public), but its old and stale stuff. For my site it shows pages gone for over a year plus other stuff. Data corruption comes to mind again, like Jagger.

It looks to me like google lost a bunch of its index. A similar thing happened with Jagger, so hopefully everything will clear itself up.

I don't disagree, but if its the case, why is it live and why are some DCs accurate and others arent. Couldnt they propogate fresh data to the out of sync ones?

I sure hope it's a screw-up. I'd hate to have to go back to working for a living.

I'm just into the wishful thinking mode at the moment. Personally I would love google to revert away from where it looks like it is going. My main site is pretty much non-existent on 1/2 the datacenters.

One thing I did notice when doing a site: search is that google has both my https:// and http:// pages indexed, whereas it did not show them differently before. The problem is corrected on my site now, but is anyone else seeing the same thing?

This update has not changed any of my serps much. Looks like clean, well aged sites will hold out through the storm.

BTW the sites in my sig are not the ones I am talking about. ;)

I'm seeing the opposite as far as my sites go. My blog which is only about 6 months old is now way up, and my main site which is several years old and previously ranked for a lot, is going down.
