Has This Forum Turned To Shit?

I think the internet sucks over summer time. I miss the college kids and I want them to start logging on again because they keep the web entertaining. Or maybe I'm just sick of being online or maybe the whole internet turned to suck.

I've only just joined, so can't really comment. I've browsed a few times over the years though. I don't think i noticed the banned people till now though.

However, the, "it's their own fault for not reading the rules" does dismay me a bit. I've been on many forums, understand the rules fine. However when reading the rules here, I did become a bit confused and unsure. I think I understand them more clearly not, but as a first read I understand why some people "break the rules"

 

I speak on a regular basis with the co-founder of DP and well, I have been around a while, back in 03/04, I just never really bothered signing up till recently because forums are not really my "thing".

I have seen over the years DP go from something what was a place to "go to" to somewhere where is just a playground.

I wont lie and say I'm here for business and stuff like that because my business is SEO and to be honest, I look around in that section and just think "WTF?" so now I treat DP as a playground for when I'm not being serious.

I've seen the BST section just plumet over the years too. There USED to be some quality sites for sale and now it's just a bunch of shit for sale, even in the domain name section.

I mean, the usual "PREMUIM DOMAIN NAMES FOR SALE $10 - - IWannaEatYourMonkey.com" Please, get real.

Premuim domains are things like SEO.com, Code.com, Phone.com etc etc. As a long standing exclusive member at DNF, I can't help but think some of the idiots here would sink.

Would it be good to turn DP into a paid forum? maybe, maybe not. The reputation of DP has gone down the pan so I really wouldn't wanna pay to come here.

To be fair, it doesn't help when you have asshole mods who have their heads stuck up their own asses and ban because they have the "power" but then it doesn't help when we see some of the most stupid threads in the world what are worthy of being pulled right away.

That's a few of my thoughts, I have more but I'll exceed the allowed character limit

I haven’t been around DP very long but it is entertaining.

As far as nuts and bolts knowledge and valuable info flowing, well..

I have used the search commands and a good percentage of valuable questions go unanswered.
While the spam threads go on for pages.

People claim to be from the UK and Canada but can’t spell 4 letter English words,

People spend all day on an Internet forum trying to scam $6 but they brag about making $4000 a month with “secret methods”

Webmaster making $3000 a mouth from a 2 page website with 75 words and 2 adsense ads.

Professional writers that can barley manage to make 12 posts that are ½ a sentence long with 2 or 3 miss spelled words.

Yeah, there are some entertaining characters around here.

The real premium domain names are sold at Moniker usually...of course they also run several thousand dollars in their auctions

 

In my opinion, it reflects the state of the entire webmaster world. Thanks to adsense, internet is seen as a quick route to money. The bubble will burst someday, when advertisers are tired of the crap traffic they are getting.

 

I can't speak for Canada, but believe me when I tell you that UK education isn't what it should be!

 

i'm English and i cant spell =) i use to sit on the bus and lick the windows till my mother would come and pick me up.

 

I think DP is what you make of it. If you expect to come here and have great deals fall in your lap you are going to be frustrated. If you are willing to pick through what is here and find what works for you, well then you may be pleasantly surprised.

 

Why is everyone being banned?? How hard is it to follow the rules on a FORUM?

 

DP turned to be what people let him to be.

 

If you're abandoning it, then just abandon it. No one's forcing you to stay or post here.
