it seems to me that that there has been no google rank update for the last couple of months, i am right actually? if yes, is such an update expected soon?
Well Susan, Some sites got their PR updated and some sites are in queue i think... the google update is not yet over as i see ups and downs in SERPs.. my some pages got deindexed and some new indexed.. so wait for 3-4 days more and it might update the PR which shows on your TOOLBAR is not a real time PR .. you can check your PR from iwebtool.com or seochat.com tools
Yepp it happend, just yesterday and infact today too. but they havent exported to the public view yet..
Ya know, most people actually do know that the visible toolbar PR is just a snapshot. Your ability to harp on about the subject doesn't make you look smart or witty. Believe it or not, there are tons of people, even though they know it is not in real time, still care. Your compulsive need to make yourself heard about it doesn't actually help those people. Sorry, but it's true. You never answered the question in the other thread. Darkhodge - should be soon. -Michael
Could be anytime.. they dis it few days back but rolled back... As I said I dont stand anywhere near your knowledge about PR Michael, may be you can help KinderStart.com
Hi, I have used an online tool that check different datacenters, and I have found that some datacenters have dropped my site to a zero Page Rank. My site has 5 PR. I am guessing that there are some changes to the algorithms.
it usually happens every 3-4 months or so. I think what's been going on lately has been a glitch. I haven't seen any movement for any of my sites...
He's not talking about the update, he's making a political statement about how the update doesn't reflect PR changes in real time, that PR is constantly changing, that pr updates only affect the toolbar, yadda yadda. In other words, he's being a geek. Don't let him know that though, he's convinced that he's just "too cool" for the rest of us geeks, and not really one of us. -Michael
Believe it or not, in this particular case, as is often the case with language, the meaning of a phrase is not dictated by one person, it's generally a majority rules kind of thing. When you make a progress report of how you are doing to a boss, you are "updating" them. You are telling them where you are at for a particular point in time. So yes, a PR "export" is indeed an update. When someone asks when a PR update is, they're 99.99%* of the time asking when the little green bar is going to change. Pretending not to know that so you can show off what you think is deep and revealing knowledge doesn't actually help them. I mean, if you wanted to state, with every PR question, that an update in PR does not mean an update in SERPs, well, then ok. It might be annoying, but at least them you'd be right. -Michael *Rough estimate, may not accurately reflect actual numbers. Margin of error is +/- 1%
Sorry, but yeah, we are. Webby insist that the vast majority of the webmastering community are idiots for using the phrase "PR Update". I'm offended by his air of superiority over it. I should just let it drop. My bad. -Michael
Dude dont misquote me!! If you are calling a bull a cow, I am not bound to call it a cow too, when I know it is a bull. I never said anything about webmastering community, all I said which I know is right. And sorry, I had no intention to argue with you, neither do I have now, I only replied to akhip's question.
I wasn't quoting you at all, I was basing my statement on your actions. Someone asks when the PR update will be, you responded with "it happens every day". Not the first time either. You're acting as if they must not know the difference between a PR Update that happens once every few months and the continuous fluxuation of Google PageRank. It looks like you think we're stupid, and yeah, that offends me. And I'm not trying to continue this argument either, just pointing out that I wasn't quoting you, you never actually used those words. I'll drop it. -Michael
