I would never spend more money than I already had. I've definitely wasted money online but it was always money that I could afford to lose - online marketing is like gambling
It is not that uncommon. The main problem is when noobies just jump into everything that promises them an easy way to make money on the net. They don't bother researching the stuff before buying it and when they find out that it will require a little work, they drop out. While it is not hard to make money on the net, it does take a little work and guidance from a reputable source.
I don't think anyone can possibly top this: http://www.perrymarshall.com/100k-for-nothing/ This guy spent over $100,000 and still hasn't made any of it back...
Very good points made, and damn how does somebody blow off US$100,000 like that. He seems to have some good tips on his site though.
If you keep on jumping from one strategy to another without testing its maximum potential, you'll lose money. On the guy who spent $100k, what was he thinking??! Maybe, $100k is peanuts to him.
Well if you throw 100k into google and no sales coming in and you keep continue thinking that people will come back after few months, then you just lost 100K.
Ya it hurt my pocket book when I was new, now that I have learned a little more and actually built a foundation which provides a free constant stream of backlinks I no longer spend anything for marketing.
When i started out as a newbie i have to be truthful i did waste money on rubbish ebooks that taught my nothing. Am sure am not the only one LOL. After a while i started learning more and more about affiliate marketing and now i don't really lose any money at all. Any money i spend is most for marketing and thats about it.
